  • warm water (110°F/45°C)2 Cup
  • all-purpose flour4 Cup
  • olive oil2 Tablespoon
  • sugar1 Tablespoon
  • salt1 Tablespoon
  • pizza sauce1 Cup
  • fresh mozzarella cheese2 Cup
  • rated Parmesan cheese2 Cup
  • Fresh basil leaves2 Unit
  • Salt and black pepper1 Unit

Steps

  1. 1.

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2.

In a large bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3.

Mix until a dough forms, adding more flour as needed until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes.

  5. 5.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

  6. 6.

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).

  7. 7.

Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal parts. Roll each part into a ball and let them rest for a few minutes.

  8. 8.

On a floured surface, roll out one dough ball into a 12-inch circle. Transfer it to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.

  9. 9.

Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  10. 10.

Arrange half of the mozzarella slices on top of the sauce.

  11. 11.

Sprinkle with half of the Parmesan cheese.

  12. 12.

Drizzle with 1 tbsp of olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

  13. 13.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  14. 14.

Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

  15. 15.

Repeat the process with the second dough ball and remaining toppings.

  16. 16.

    Slice and serve hot.
